Shoulder Pain
Description
Shoulder pain is a complex condition involving inflammation and disrupted movement patterns. It rarely has a single cause and often reflects deeper imbalances
in body chemistry that lead the brain to restrict movement as a protective response.
Common shoulder problems include:
- Tendinitis
- Bursitis
- Ligament injuries
- Acromio-clavicular joint injury
- Frozen shoulder (restricted range of motion)
- Dislocation or subluxation
- Rotator cuff weakness or tears
- Referred pain from the cervical spine, elbow, or hand
- Arthritis
- Meridian imbalances
- Referred pain from digestive organs

Chiropractic / Applied Kinesiology Approach to Shoulder Problems
Accuracy in diagnosis is necessary for accuracy in treatment. While many
shoulder issues are related to improper muscle activity, it’s important to
investigate the deeper causes of muscle imbalances. Are they due to a local
lesion, or are there more remote or systemic factors at play such as a thyroid
or immune system?
Dr. Morrison uses manual muscle testing and other clinical exams to pinpoint the source of shoulder pain. By uncovering the root cause, treatment can range from quick resolution to a more gradual recovery. Each case is unique,
and understanding the underlying cause is key to successful healing.
