Non-force techniques

In my practice, I offer a wide range of chiropractic care—from traditional manual adjustments to low-force, “no-cracking” techniques. Everyone is different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. What works well for one patient may not be right for another. That’s why I tailor care to the specific needs of each individual.
For those who respond well to traditional adjustments—often referred to as the “popping” or “cracking” technique—I provide this method of hands-on spinal manipulation. These techniques help restore motion and relieve discomfort. They are time-tested and effective for a wide range of conditions, from acute injuries to chronic pain.
Directional non-force Technique
However, not everyone is comfortable with traditional chiropractic adjustments involving cracking or popping sounds. For those who prefer a lighter touch, I offer low-force, directional techniques. These methods include gentle and precise manual procedures of Applied Kinesiology as well as the Activator treatment (a hand-held instrument to deliver targeted, low-force impulses). Each technique is highly effective and well-suited for sensitive patients.
Non-force Technique
In addition to chiropractic care, I also incorporate complementary therapies such as myofascial release, cranial techniques, and meridian therapy. These approaches help relieve muscular tension, restore energetic balance, and support long-term healing. I also provide lifestyle and ergonomic guidance to promote daily well-being and help prevent the recurrence of symptoms.
Whether you’re new to this kind of care or have had previous experiences that left you unsure, my approach is collaborative and patient-centered, always tailored to your comfort level and personal needs.

Non-force techniques FAQ

Will I experience any discomfort during a low-force directional adjustment?
No. These methods are gentle by design and intended to be completely comfortable. Most patients remain relaxed both during and after the session.
Traditional chiropractic adjustments generally involve manual techniques that create joint “popping” sounds as tension is released.
Non-force methods use light, controlled pressure and gentle mobilization to achieve similar results, without any cracking or sudden movements.
Yes, these techniques are appropriate for individuals of all ages, especially those who may benefit from a gentler approach due to age, sensitivity, or certain medical conditions. They provide a safe and effective option for patients who prefer or require low-force care.
Non-force treatments follow the same time frames as standard chiropractic visits, typically ranging from 15 to 50 minutes. During your initial exam, I’ll perform a thorough evaluation to determine the appropriate length and structure of future sessions based on your specific needs.
No special preparation is necessary. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing can be helpful, but it isn’t required. Most importantly, come with any questions, concerns, or relevant health information so we can make the most of your visit.
Many individuals feel relief right away, while others notice improvement over the course of a few sessions. Healing time will vary based on several factors, including how long the symptoms have been present and the overall nature of the condition.
Yes. These techniques can be highly effective for chronic conditions, especially when combined with lifestyle changes and complementary therapies.
This is not uncommon, and it makes perfect sense. A negative experience with a previous practitioner can leave a lasting impression and make you hesitant to try again. I’m sensitive to this and often find that patients are able to relax quickly under my care. I take time to listen and address every concern. Customizing treatment is central to Applied Kinesiology, and I strive to keep patients safe, comfortable, and informed every step of the way.
