Letting Go

Letting Go

“We don’t really heal anything; we simply let it go.” — Carl Jung
Pain, tension, and chronic issues in the body are never purely physical. There is always an emotional component. One striking example of this mind-body connection is phantom limb pain. When a limb is amputated, individuals often feel discomfort in the absent limb. Since the pain can’t possibly originate from the missing body part, it is often linked to emotional factors like grief or changes in self-image. Recognizing this powerful connection between mind and body is essential to effectively managing chronic pain.

Moving On

We cannot “bury our feelings alive,” as unresolved emotions inevitably find ways to express themselves, often through physical symptoms. Clinging to negative emotions can lead to physiological changes such as elevated cortisol levels, high blood pressure, and muscle tension. Over time, these effects can manifest as headaches, digestive issues, and chronic unrest.
Letting go of toxic emotions and influences helps restore the natural flow of energy within the psyche, and we begin to feel better physically. Many people find chiropractic adjustments particularly effective in letting go of stored emotions. The rapid thrust applied during adjustments can stimulate the release of endorphins—your body’s natural pain relievers—while relaxing tight muscles. This process reduces overall tension and creates a sense of well-being.

Embracing Transformation

Letting go involves shedding outdated patterns, beliefs, and emotional burdens. This process, symbolizes a kind of death—a loss of what was. However, this surrender also sets the stage for rebirth, allowing new relationships, insights, and opportunities to emerge.
